Health Awareness walk on Breast Cancer Prevention at Isra University

October is a month of awareness about Breast cancer problem world over in this connection health awareness walk to create more awareness to prevent Breast cancer in Pakistan was held at Isra University main Campus Hyderabad in which Medical students of Third Year MBBS, Nursing Students, DPt Students, House Officers, Consultants, Professors and Faculty members took part in the walk which started from Block A and Terminated at Asadullah Kazi Auditorium. The walk and Gathering was address by Dr. Naeem Laghari Oncology Consultant of Isra, Dr. Manzoor Jamali Psychiatrist, Ms. Nargis Baloch Nursing Superintendent, Dr. Sajjad Kazi Deputy Administrator Isra Hospital and Professor Husain Bux Kolachi Dean Basic Medical Sciences, They told that Breast cancer is major public Problem in Pakistan where Forty Thousand new cases are attributed to Breast cancer, the self-Breast Examination, early mammography and Fine Needle Biopsy can diagnosed at early stage of Breast Cancer, Obesity, High Fat Diet, Less walking, smoking and low Breast Feeding are the causes and Risk factors which need more attention and community awareness. The walk was organized as Higher Education commission and Federal Ministry of Health regulation has directed Universities to hold awareness programs in their campuses. The walk is one of the high impact awareness activity and Isra University is holding such events on major public Health issues like Rabies, Typhoid, Hepatitis, TB, Malaria, Diabetes and Breast cancer every year. More than two hundred students, faculty member Participated in the health awareness walk.
