InnoTech Competition 2025 – A Celebration of Innovation and Creativity
An engaging and impactful event, InnoTech Competition 2025, was held on Thursday, 08 May 2025, at the Faculty of Engineering, Science & Technology (FES&T). The event was organized by the Department of Computer Science in collaboration with the Directorate of Student Activities & Athletics. It served as a vibrant platform to inspire young minds to think beyond boundaries and transform their creativity into real-world, practical solutions. The competition featured three categories: Digital Logic Design (DLD) Semester Projects, Open Hardware Projects from any discipline, and CodeSprint – an on-spot software designing and coding challenge. The program began with a ribbon-cutting ceremony performed by the Vice Chancellor, Dr. Ahmed Waliullah Kazi, who also visited all the competition venues. During his tour, he interacted with participants, appreciated the high turnout, and praised the students’ technical depth, innovation, and problem-solving approaches.
A total of 139 students participated across all three categories. As part of Isra University’s broader outreach initiative, students from public colleges also participated in the CodeSprint category, reflecting the university’s commitment to engaging youth beyond its own campus. Projects were evaluated based on five key criteria: innovation, functionality, real-world relevance, design quality, and presentation. Winners and runners-up in each category were awarded cash prizes of Rs. 5,000 and Rs. 3,000 respectively, along with shields and certificates. Certificates of participation were also distributed to all participating students, organizers, and judges. In the DLD Projects Category, Digital Dreamers (Lachmi, Ritika, Bhoomika, Mumta, Saba, Lashari) won with their Electronics Dice. Bluetooth Controlled Car (Badiaa Asif, Maheen Arshad, Nimra Asif) placed Runner-Up, and two teams shared Third Runner-Up: Flame Detection System (Abdul Hadi, Hasnain Ali, Zuhaib Ali, Umair Raza) and Music Rhythm Controller (Sidra, Sumaiya). In Open Hardware Projects, Smart Voting Machine (Abdul Ahad, Abu Bakar, M. Hussain) won, while Greatest Of All Time (Bushra Rehman, Waniya Qureshi, Ismail Kham, Azan Baig, Furkan Memon) was Runner-Up. In CodeSprint, Roshna Shaikh and Muferriha won, with Alisha Rind and Noor-ul-Fatima as Runner-Up. Both teams were from Public College, Hyderabad.
Isra University continues to promote student-led innovation through academic and co-curricular programs that empower students to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of science, technology, and society.
