Keeping the above thinking in mind i.e. Idea | Invention | Innovation, Isra University, Hyderabad, Pakistan organized the Annual event of iCube 2014, which consisted of Twenty Two Competitions, on the theme in which inventive idea is innovated.

iCube 2014 is a Competition which gives the opportunity to the young innovators to Invent an Innovative Idea as defined in its Tag Line i.e “IDEA | INNOVATION | INVENTION” and these three I’s collectively merge together to form “iCube 2014”.

iCube 2014 was held on November 24, 2014 at Isra University, Hyderabad Campus where more than 1200 odd students from all across the nation participated and made it a story of success. This event was organized by Prof. Dr. Hameedullah Kazi, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Engineering & Management Sciences, Chief Patron, iCube 2014, Engr. Saad Khan Baloch, Coordinator, iCube 2014 & Counselor, IEEE Isra Student Branch Pakistan and the whole team of IEEE Isra Student Branch Pakistan.

The opening ceremony was held at the Asadullah Kazi Auditorium. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Dr. A. G. Kazi, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Isra University, Hyderabad. The welcome Address was given by Nabeel Abid, Chair, IEEE Isra Student Branch, who welcomed the participants at the mega event. This was followed by address by Prof. Dr. Hameedullah Kazi, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Engineering & Management Sciences and Chief Patron, iCube 2014 in which he wished all the participants best of luck. A flash back video of iCube 2013 was played after Dr. Kazi address, which showed the memories from the preceding iCube 2013. The details of the iCube 2014 Competitions were shared by Engr. Saad Khan Baloch, Coordinator, iCube 2014 & Counselor, IEEE Isra Student Branch Pakistan, in which he discussed the competitions detail at length. Then it was the turn of Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, which was performed by Dr. A. G. Kazi, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Isra University, Hyderabad. This was reciprocated by the address by the Chief Guest. Afterwards the Opening Ceremony was concluded and the participants proceeded towards the competition venues.

iCube 2014 comprised of Twenty Two versatile competitions for students ranging from school, College and University level. Participating students in iCube 2014 were represented by nearly Seventy institutes which included Govt. College University, Faislabad, University of Engineering & Technology, Lahore, SEECS, Islamabad, MNS UET, Multan, National University of Emerging Sciences (FAST), Karachi, Hamdard University Karachi, Bahria University, Karachi, PAF KIET, Karachi, SZABIST, Karachi, DHA Suffa, Karachi, Domino Karachi, Iqra University, Karachi, Karachi School of Art, Karachi, Preston University, Karachi, Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi, Virtual University, Hyderabad, Mehran University of Engineering Technology, Jamshoro, University of Sindh, Jamshoro, Center of Excellence in Arts and Designing, Jamshoro, Liaquat University, Jamshoro, Hyderabad Institute of Science & Technology, Hyderabad, BITE, Hyderabad, APTECH, Avenaz, and different Colleges and Schools from Sindh Province.

The Twenty Two competitions were designed for every field of study to provide a platform for every innovative student in different fields of study. The competitions where the students participated included Hardware Exhibition, Software Exhibition, Programming King, Circuit Designing, Logo Designing, Web Development, Arts Competition, Photography, Gaming Mania, Short Film, Speed Wiring, Poster Presentation, Robo Race, Scenario Writing, Business Idea, Techno Idea, Spelling Bee, Minute to Win it, Quiz Competition, Textile Designing, Sculpture Creation and Ad-War.

The competitions ended in the evening, which also included lunch and refreshments in between 02:00 PM to 02:30 PM. As the Sun started to set, the closing ceremony started at the Isra Sports Complex where a grand setup was organized. The closing ceremony also had the presence of the Guests, Sponsors, Participants, Faculty Members, Judges and the Organizers. The closing ceremony had the presence of the chief guest of Prof. Dr. Ghulam Qadir Kazi, Vice Chancellor Isra University. Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Hameedullah Kazi was also present on the occasion.

This grand gathering was the biggest ever in the history of Isra University. On this occasion the chief guest Prof. Dr. Ghulam Qadir Kazi, Vice Chancellor Isra University, addressed the massive gathering where he was amazed to see a healthy crowd and congratulated the winners and runners. He also encouraged students to take part in such events for the development of students and motivated them to keep participating in national events like iCube 2014. He later also distributed the prizes among the winners and runners up of 22 competitions. Other awards were also given including the best ambassador and souvenirs were presented to the dignitaries and the sponsors. Prof. Dr. Hameedullah Kazi, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Engineering & Management Sciences, Chief Patron, iCube 2014, Engr. Saad Khan Baloch, Coordinator, iCube 2014 & Counselor, IEEE Isra Student Branch Pakistan also spoke on the occasion. Amaad Soomro, Vice President, IEEE Isra Student Branch, Pakistan and Hamza Malah, Secretary, IEEE Isra Student Branch, Pakistan very befittingly summed up iCube 2014 in special words. At the end Vote of thanks was given by the President IEEE Isra Student branch, Nabeel Abid where he thanked participants for participating in iCube and showed his gratitude towards each and every volunteer member for making this event possible. iCube 2014 had welcomed the most cutting edge undergraduate young minds from across the nation to compete against each other in one or more of the Twenty Two competitions. Each competition in iCube 2014 challenged its participants to expand their frame of reference and to identify solutions to problems and show their affinity for solving them.

On the other hand, a Fun Cube Section was organized where different stalls were kept for providing the participants with different variety of food, snacks, games and etc. The purpose of keeping and organizing Fun Cube Section was to provide the participants with a chance to spend quality time.
