AWARENESS SESSION ON TRAFFIC & ROAD SAFETY: DRIVE SAFE, STAY SAFE

Isra University, Hyderabad, organized an impactful Awareness Session on Traffic & Road Safety: Drive Safe, Stay Safe on Wednesday, 09 April 2025, at the Asadullah Kazi Auditorium. The session was organized by Isra University under the banner of the Directorate of Student Activities & Athletics, in collaboration with the National Highway & Motorway Police. The event aimed to educate students, faculty, and staff on the importance of safe driving practices and road safety awareness. The Chief Guest, Mr. Asghar Ali Yousafzai, DIG South Zone, NH&MP along with Guest of Honour, Mr. Nadeem Ashraf Warraich, SSP and Sector Commander, Jamshoro, NH&MP were first of all greeted by Dr. Ahmed Waliullah Kazi, Vice Chancellor, Isra University, at his office.
Later on the session took place at the Asadullah Kazi Auditorium. Present on the occasion were Dr. Ahmed Waliullah Kazi, Vice Chancellor, Isra University; Prof. Dr. Suhail Kazi, Dean, Faculty of Engineering Science & Technology; Dr. Sajjad Kazi, Director, Isra Hospital; Mr. Irfan Haroon, Director, Public Relations & Student Affairs; Dr. Saad Baloch, Additional Director, Directorate of Student Activities & Athletics, officers, employees, and heads of departments from the Isra Institute of Rehabilitation Sciences, Basic Medical & Clinical Sciences, Dental Sciences, Computer, Engineering & Management Sciences, as well as members from the Fleet and IT Departments. A large number of students also participated in the session.
Dr. Ahmed Waliullah Kazi, Vice Chancellor of Isra University, delivered the Welcome Address, highlighting the significance of traffic awareness and the university’s commitment to cultivating a culture of responsibility and civic consciousness. Sharing his personal reflection, he said, “In my younger days, I used to have little to no awareness of traffic rules and regulations. But with time and experience, I now fully understand the value of caution and careful driving. I believe sessions like these are crucial for creating a safer and more responsible community. They play a vital role in educating students and the public about traffic laws, safe driving practices, and the broader social impact of road safety. I am hopeful that our collaboration with law enforcement agencies will continue to foster positive change in society.”
To honor the distinguished guests, Dr. Ahmed Waliullah Kazi presented the traditional Sindhi Ajrak, Topi, and a Shield of Appreciation to the Chief Guest, Mr. Asghar Ali Yousafzai, DIG South Zone, NH&MP and also to Mr. Nadeem Ashraf Warraich, SSP and Sector Commander, Jamshoro, NH&MP, with Ajrak and Topi in recognition of their services and contributions. Mr. Asghar Ali Yousafzai, in his keynote remarks, appreciated Isra University’s initiative in organizing the traffic awareness session. “This event plays a vital role in promoting road safety and reducing traffic-related incidents. Educating the public—especially students—is critical for cultivating a culture of responsible driving. It aligns with our department’s mission to enhance public awareness and ensure safer road conditions. I encourage more institutions to take similar steps in supporting the efforts of law enforcement agencies,” he said.
An informative technical session titled “Drive Safe, Stay Safe” was conducted by Inspector Muhammad Kamran Ashiq of NH&MP. The session provided valuable insights on traffic laws, accident prevention, and practical tips for ensuring road safety in daily life. This was followed by the distribution of certificates to individuals who contributed significantly to the success of the program. Additionally, the DIG distributed NH&MP caps among various heads of departments and presented commemorative shields as mementos to Dr. Ahmed Waliullah Kazi, Prof. Dr. Hameedullah Kazi, President & CEO, Isra Islamic Foundation (received on his behalf by Prof. Dr. Suhail Kazi), and Dr. Saad Baloch in recognition of their support and collaboration. A group photograph with the honorable guests and university faculty members marked the conclusion of the event.
