ICT-INOV project (Modernizing ICT Education for Harvesting Innovation Capacity Building in Higher Education project)
Isra University Department of Computer Science proudly announces its active participation in the ICT-INOV project, an initiative aimed at enriching the potential of ICT higher education in Asia and Europe, empowering students to bring their ideas into action. The project is funded by the Capacity Building in Higher Education Erasmus+ program and is implemented in Greece, Malaysia, Vietnam, Pakistan, Nepal, Portugal, Italy, and Estonia.
Under the ICT-INOV project, the Department of Computer Science has undertaken a multidimensional approach to faculty development, innovative teaching, and capacity building in higher education. The department has embarked on a journey to enhance the skills and expertise of its faculty members through specialized training programs, workshops, and seminars focused on innovative teaching and learning methodologies, including gamification, design thinking, and active learning.
As part of the capacity-building efforts, comprehensive teacher and student training sessions were conducted including workshops and seminars, equipping the participants with the knowledge and tools necessary to develop gamification, and design thinking skills and to effectively integrate modern teaching techniques into courses. Additionally, the department has established a state-of-the-art ICT-INOV lab and procured cutting-edge equipment to support hands-on learning experiences for students.
One of the key initiatives undertaken is the incorporation of design thinking methodology into its courses, fostering a culture of creativity, problem-solving, and innovation among students. Through this approach, students are encouraged to think critically, collaborate with their peers, and develop innovative solutions to real-world challenges.
In addition to faculty development and curriculum enhancement, the Department actively participated in ICT-INOV meetings, seminars, webinars, workshops, and conference, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange among European and Asian ICT-INOV partners.
Isra University looks forward to continuing its collaboration with the ICT-INOV project partners and contributing to the advancement of ICT education and innovation.
