Health, Physical Education & Sports Sciences (HPESS) is a rapidly growing speciality that has the potential to impact upon all areas of Rehabilitation Sciences. This world-class course is for physical educators, sports persons seeking a specialist qualification in Health, Physical Education & Sports Sciences, compliant with international standards of practise is becoming an increasingly popular method of treating athletes with musculoskeletal problems. The primary theoretic basis for the claimed beneficial results of testing and improvement of athletic performance level, fitness and activity levels and restoration of motion. M.Phill Sports Medicine & Manipulative Physical Therapy – SM&MPT

Sports medicine & Manipulative physical therapy (SM&MTP) is a rapidly growing speciality that has the potential to impact upon all areas of Rehabilitation Sciences. This world-class course is for physiotherapists seeking a specilist qualification in Sports Medicine & Manipulative Physical Therapy, compliant with international standards of practise.

Sports Medicine & Manipulative Physical Therapy is becoming an increasing popular method of treating athletes with musculoskeletal problems. The primary theoretic basis for the claimed beneficial results of manipulation is the restoration of motion with subsequent effect on ligamentous adhesions, muscle spasm, disk nutrition, and central nervous system endorphins systems. Research trials suggest that Sports Medicine & Manipulation is beneficial in relieving or reducing the duration of acute low back pain and acute neck pain. It is evident that sports Medicine Manipulative physical therapy enhances certain parameters of motion of the spine and peripheral joints. This program comprises a minimum of 75 credits.
