WALK ON WORLD ANTI-DRUG & TOBACCO DAY 2022

Hyderabad, 27 June 2022: Isra University Hyderabad celebrated World Anti-Drug and Tobacco Day 2022, by having a Walk. Prof. Dr. Nazir Ashraf Laghari, Vice-Chancellor Isra University Hyderabad along with faculty, staff, and students walked on the day to highlight the importance of the fight against illicit drug trafficking and the use of Tobacco.
The Vice-Chancellor urged that the youth, whether in the universities, Colleges and Schools must be made aware of the hazards of the drugs and narcotics’ effects on their studies and future development. He appealed to the community and society to route out this menace.
Prof. Dr. Abdul Sattar Memon, Chairman Anti-Drug and Tobacco Committee and Chief Executive Director (AMD&AMS) in his address advised the participants of the walk to contraband drugs damage the brain and hence the nation can never develop if this challenge is not overcome.
The Senior faculty members Prof. Dr. Fasih Hashim, Prof. Dr. Naeem Laghari, along with Anti-Drug and Tobacco Committee members Prof. Dr. Manzoor Jamali, Prof. Dr. Hussain Bux Kolachi, Mr. Irfan Haroon, Mr. Saad Baloch, and students in large numbers participated in the walk. This walk was in line with HEC Policy 2021-22 to control drug abuse in Higher Education Institutions of Pakistan. The Committee thanked the Students Affairs Office, Community Medicine department, and other departments for their cooperation.
